Meet the Artist
Hi, I'm Katy O. and in 2025 I created Márohu & Mimosa. Under this name I unleash my art! It is inspired by friendship, connection and moments of joy and calm.
What does Márohu & Mimosa mean?
Márohu is a star in Aquarius. Named by the Dominican Republic, the star honours the Taino ‘cemi’, Márohu, protector of the sun. ('Cemi' means ancestral spirit.)
The fluffy, pink-flowered Mimosa pudica, has delicate leaves that fold when touched. Pudica comes from Latin meaning shy or bashful.
Another variety, with a yellow, sweetly fragranced Mimosa flower symbolises spring and renewal. And then there are mimosa cocktails...
So with the strength of Márohu and sensitivity and joy of mimosa, the name was born.

Home
I am based in London but take inspiration from my heritage, and from my travels around the world.
Studies
I studied Fine Art at university in Liverpool and was involved in community projects creating art in centres and spaces around the city.
Inclusion
I work in the inclusion space. I am involved in improving digital accessibility of products and services including websites and apps.
Peace
My artwork tends to reflect the things I most value; friendship, fun, calm, creativity, generosity and growth.
Art with Purpose
A proportion of all profit is donated to a range of charities that support young carers and struggling families to have a much-needed holiday. So extra thanks to you for your support.
